Fire Safety Month

It is fire safety month. At 1:30 am this morning, we were reminded to check the batteries in our fire detectors. The high-pitched beep made me pace the floors and eventually wake up Mom and Dad to tell them what was wrong. Dad came into the family room and took down the fire detector for me to check out.

First I had to assess the situation. This required me to disassemble the equipment. I get my mechanical skills from Dad.

Eureka! I found the problem. We just need a new battery. This is a win, win situation for me. Not only did I solve the problem which granted me unconditional affection, but needing a new battery will likely result in me taking a ride in Dad's truck. Perfect!

I hope everyone considers this blog a helpful reminder.

  4. Soph, I don't like those things at all. That is the one thing that shakes me up for hours after the fact. Very good tip to keep the humans on top of the batteries so we don't get the warning beep!
